An American Red Cross ambulance driver in Italy during World War I, Ernest Hemingway stayed at the Hotel des Iles Borromées in Stresa in 1918 shortly after the war ended while recovering from a leg wound.
That's when Room 106 became the Hemingway Suite.

The American writer was so enchanted by the beauty of Stresa that he mentioned it in his famous book "A Farewell to Arms", and then returned to the same places in 1927 and again in 1948.

Acqua di Stresa chose the name of the protagonist of one of Hemingway's stories to celebrate the author. It is a decidedly masculine and passionate fragrance, in line with his adventurous lifestyle.
